Welcome to Living Tickled, my name is Charlie, and I’m glad you are here.
In the past several years, I’ve searched the internet on everything from the proper way to heat up a bottle to the tips and tricks of potty training. There is so much information out there, that I was often left with more confusion and frustration.
The internet is a great paradox. Isn’t it? It’s so helpful when you want to know the weather!
I have also searched the internet, too many times to count, to find something or someone I could relate to as a mom, so I didn’t feel quite so alone, but could never quite find my niche.
Since becoming a mother in 2013, I’ve struggled with the regular ups and downs of motherhood. But, I’ve also struggled with postpartum depression and heightened anxiety. During my first couple years of motherhood I had more bad days then good days.

Post: Ways to Cope with Anxiety
I couldn’t find anything written or publish that gave me the peace and validation I searched for. Ever since then, I’ve written notes and ideas. I gone back and forth with the idea of writing a book. I’ve even put an idea in place, but it never worked out. I’ve started a few blogs, but was always afraid to take a big leap to really put my whole heart and soul into it.
So, this blog was born.
One day I woke up and said to my husband, “I think I’m a negative person”! On top of my usual emotional roller coaster, depression, and anxiety, I found myself focusing on the negative. I’m quick to think of the worst case scenario, I find myself complaining about the smallest of things, and I catch myself asking “why me?” or feeling sorry for myself. I wanted to change.
I want to be a light to others, to the world, and especially to my kids. I want to create happiness and choose to be positive. I don’t want my depression or anxiety to hold me back. I want to use my trials and struggles for good, and to become a better person. Life will always be hard, for all of us, no matter the struggles, so a little positivity goes a long way.
Post: Life is hard and what you can do about it
Over the past year, I started looking up books, articles, music, scriptures, anything about becoming a more positive person and reaching my goals. I still have a long way to go, but I’ve started implementing what I’ve learned into my life, and it has slowly started changing my life for the better.
This new determination and information gave me the real push I needed to share my journey of living a more positive life and sharing my positivity with the world. I also had a desire to change the negative stigma often associated with mental health.
Positivity breeds positivity. I believe the more positive and hopeful we are, the more good things happen!
